Overview
In order to provide the highest level of police services and to ensure that officers are trained in the most current tactics the Department has several instructors in different areas of expertise, including:
- Defensive and Arrest Tactics
- Emergency Vehicle Operation
- Firearms
- Less Lethal Munitions and Electronic Control Devices
- Vehicle Contacts
These officers are certified by the State of Wisconsin to instruct in their area of expertise. They work with instructors from the Sun Prairie and Middleton Police Departments to develop curriculum for in-service training. Instructors also work with officer throughout the year to improve their skills.
