We welcome you and your comments on the Fitchburg Police Department's social media platforms. The purpose of these pages is to present matters of public interest in the City of Fitchburg, including its many residents, businesses, and visitors. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated limited public online forum, not a public forum. Please keep your comments clean and relevant to city-related topics and subjects. Inappropriate or non-relevant comments are subject to removal by the administrator of the account. If you do not comply with the terms of use outlined below, your message can be removed.

This forum is not monitored at all times. Do NOT use this forum to report emergency situations or time-sensitive issues. Social media messaging or comments is not a substitute for filing a police report. Please contact our department via our non-emergency dispatch, (608)270-4300, to report an incident or speak with a department member.

-Content should be related to the subject matter of the social media site where it is posted. -If your post violates any of the below rules, it can be deleted:

-Content that is obscene.
-Content that is not relevant to city subjects.
-Content that is violent, abusive, indecent, profane, boisterous, threatening, hateful, or otherwise disorderly to anyone or any organization.
-Content that suggests or encourages illegal activity.
-Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, lawful source of income, or arrest/conviction record.
-Content that defames or violates right to privacy.
-Content posted by persons whose profile picture or avatar, username, or e-mail address contains any of the aforementioned prohibited conduct.
-Solicitations or advertisements, including but not limited to, promotion or endorsement of any private financial, commercial, or non-governmental agency, or political organizations. -Content attempting to defraud any person or private financial, commercial or governmental agency.
-Content that violates intellectual property rights.
-Content that compromises the safety or security of the public or public systems.
-You participate at your own risk and take personal responsibility for your comments, your username, and all information provided.
