Adopted November 26, 2013, Amended June 25, 2019
The City of Fitchburg, in partnership with Sub-Zero, Inc./Wolf Appliance, Inc. and Payne and Dolan, and with oversight provided by the North Stoner Prairie Neighborhood Plan Steering Committee, developed the North Stoner Prairie Neighborhood Plan. SAA Design Group was contracted as the lead consultant to develop the plan.
The North Stoner Prairie (NSP) Neighborhood Plan is part of the Fitchburg Comprehensive Plan, serving as an amendment to Appendix A. The NSP Plan analyzes the natural resources environment, parks and open space, transportation and connectivity, storm water management and utilities, and land use, and integration with existing areas. The NSP Plan provides a rational basis for decision-making by the City when the private sector proposes a development/ redevelopment opportunity within the proposed neighborhood and or concurrent with the expansion of the Urban Service Boundary. The NSP Plan is also a guide for public infrastructure planning and investment.
Environmental Corridor Update:
The Fitchburg Common Council authorized a minor adjustment, approved by the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC), to reduce the environmental corridor for the closed depression west of the Badger State Trail. See City Resolution R-101-16 for details on this adjustment.
