  2. Groundbreaking at Sunnyside Park - Fitchburg's 1st Dog Park

    April 30, 2017, 2:00 PM - 2:30 PM @ Sunnyside Park is located at the northeast corner of South Fish Hatchery Road and Irish Lane

    Join the City of Fitchburg and the Fitchburg Dog Park Advocates (FDPA) on Sunday, April 30th to break ground on the first dog park in Fitchburg at Sunnyside Park. The event will begin at 2:00 pm with brief comments from Mayor Jason Gonzalez and the FDPA, and will include recognition for project sponsors and donors. Parking is available at Gorman Wayside, just south of the park on the west side of South Fish Hatchery Road.

  1. FHS Annual Meeting: Beyond the Trenches

    After a brief Fitchburg Historical Society business meeting, where they will elect new board members, they will have a presentation of Beyond the Trenches by Russell Horton. He will be speaking about the stories of Wisconsin Men and Women in World War I to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the US entering World War I. The son and grandson of Army veterans, Russell Horton is the Reference & Outreach Archivist at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum.
