A United States Marshals Service Task Force arrested Allen C. Artis Jr. in Milwaukee on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

An arrest warrant for Artis was issued through Dane County Circuit Court on November 26 on three domestic-related charges including: second-degree recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment and aggravated battery.  The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Fitchburg on November 14, 2019.

Investigators with the Fitchburg Police Department worked to develop information on Artis’ whereabouts and requested the assistance of the United States Marshals Service to apprehend him.

Artis was transported to the Milwaukee House of Correction and is awaiting transfer to Dane County.

The Fitchburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to locate Allen C. Artis Jr, 30, of Fitchburg. Artis is the suspect in a violent domestic abuse incident in Fitchburg on November 14, 2019. The Fitchburg Police Department has probable cause to arrest Artis on multiple felony charges including first-degree reckless injury, substantial battery, and false imprisonment. Due to the open investigation no further details are available for release.

In addition to the Madison area, Artis is believed to have connections to the Fond du Lac area. Artis should be considered dangerous and should not be approached.
