Expect prairie burns at Dawley Conservancy, Briarwood Park, and Gorman Wayside on Wednesday, April 2 if weather and site conditions are right. The east wind in the forecast should keep smoke away from nearby roads and residences.
Prairie burns are conducted by trained professionals to increase plant diversity, control invading woody plants, release nutrients into the soil, and improve space and light conditions for native plants.
