Overview
The Special Response Team (S.R.T.) is comprised of six department members. The primary function of the S.R.T. personnel is to provide specialized skills related to the execution of search warrants, crowd control and other situations requiring the use of specialized tactical equipment.
S.R.T. members train with similarly trained personnel from Middleton and Sun Prairie Police Departments as events requiring the use of S.R.T. sometimes come with no advance notice or require multiple groups of officers. S.R.T. members also train with other agencies within Dane County and when requested assist those agencies with major events. S.R.T. members routinely assist with crowd control at FreakFest in Madison as well as Presidential visits to the area.
