As the investigation into this incident continued, two people were eventually arrested and taken to the Dane County Jail:
- Danta D. Jones, DOB 06/19/1978, was booked on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Endangering Safety by Reckless Use of a Firearm, and an unrelated warrant.
- Michelle L. Koch, DOB 04/14/1981, was taken into custody for a Parole Violation.
This case remains open while additional leads and interviews are followed up on. Investigators are still seeking to locate a car that was targeted in the shooting, as there have not yet been any reported injuries. The car was described as a white or silver sedan and will likely have damage consistent with being shot by a shotgun. Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of this car or its occupants is asked to contact our department.

Details:
On Monday, October 24, 2022 at approximately 6:40 a.m., the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Coho Street for a report of shots fired. Approximately 10 minutes later, the Madison Police Department responded to a rollover vehicle crash in a driveway within the 2000 block of Post Road in the City of Madison. Both incidents were found to be directly related to each other.
Officers on scene obtained witness statements and physical evidence confirming a firearm discharge within the City of Fitchburg. The suspect from the shooting then fled in a vehicle one block south where it hit a parked car and rolled over in a driveway in the City of Madison. The suspect had ties to a nearby residence which was cleared with the assistance of Madison Police SWAT.
This incident is still in the early stages of the investigation which will be ongoing. There have been no reported injuries and there is no further information currently available.
