On July 29, 2018, at approximately 2:24 a.m., Fitchburg police officers responded to the Kwik Trip gas station located at 6133 Mckee Rd. for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect entered the store, pointed a gun at employees, and demanded money. The suspect fled prior to police arrival with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries reported from this incident. A K9 track was conducted, however, the suspect was not immediately located.
The suspect is a heavy set black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and black boots. He was armed with a handgun.
The Fitchburg Police Department was assisted by the Dane County Sheriff’s Office and the Town of Madison Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available at this time.
