Integrity Grading and Excavating will begin construction of the Fitchrona Road and Nesbitt Road roundabout on Wednesday, July 10, with the intersection closed to all traffic through October 2, 2019. Access to local businesses will be maintained at all times, but will take some coordination. A signed detour is available. The construction and closure is being coordinated with the Verona Road Project and the opening of the Williamsburg Way bridge early next week. Once the new bridge opens, motorists can use the frontage roads and Williamsburg Way as an alternate route to bypass backups and delays along McKee Road during peak travel times.
The roundabout intersection construction was planned for 2019 to allow for alternate routes in 2020 when Fish Hatchery Road, McKee Road and the Beltine are under construction. Please encourage others to sign up for "Notify Me" notifications regarding this and other construction projects in Fitchburg to stay current with changing construction traffic.
