On October 1, 2019, at approximately 2:51 a.m., Fitchburg Police officers responded to the area of the 3000 block of Hartwicke Dr. for a report of two suspicious males. The reporting party could see the suspects from his security camera and witnessed them walking around the vehicle in his driveway. An officer located the suspects on Yarmouth Greenway, which led to a foot pursuit. A K9 track was conducted, but the suspects were not immediately located. The area was checked by officers and numerous thefts and burglaries were discovered on Hartwicke Dr., Yarmouth Greenway, and Portarligton Ln.
One of the suspects was later identified as a 16 year old male. He was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Reception Center on a preliminary charge of resisting an officer. The second suspect has been identified as a 13 year old male, but has not yet been located.
The Fitchburg Police Department is requesting anyone who lives in the affected neighborhood and has security video, to please review their video. If the suspects are seen on video, please contact the Fitchburg Police Department. The first suspect is a black male wearing a blue zip up hooded sweatshirt and distressed blue jeans. The second suspect is a black male wearing a black jacket, khaki shorts, and white shoes.
