On Thursday, January 23rd, 2020, at 8:14 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to Sub Zero at 6061 Basswood Dr, in the City of Fitchburg for first a report of a theft from auto and then a report of a shot being fired. When Fitchburg Officers arrived on scene it was determined employees had observed 3 white or Hispanic males going through the parking lot looking into cars. The suspects set off a car alarm and then ran back to their vehicle which was described as an older, dark colored, Chevy Lumina or Toyota Camry. The employee followed the suspect vehicle for a short distance in his own vehicle and then a shot was fired from the suspect vehicle. The employee was not injured and no damaged property was located. A spent shell casing was located at the scene of the incident.
At this time there are not any reports of injuries and there is not believed to be a danger to the public.
