To promote public safety, the LAST DAY TO IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTE at Fitchburg City Hall will be Tuesday, March 24th at 4:30 p.m. Voters are strongly urged to request a ballot to be mailed to your home (see below) so that you don’t have to vote in person at the April 7th primary election.

Effective Tuesday, 3/24 at 4:30 p.m. the Fitchburg City Clerk’s office will not be holding any regular in-person voting hours but will be scheduling appointments on a case-by-case basis for those who have no other means of requesting a ballot and for those that need special accommodations. The Clerk’s Office also will be taking appointments for those who need to register to vote.

April 7, 2020, Spring Election and Presidential Preference Vote

Requesting a Ballot by Mail: To request a ballot be mailed to your home, please visit the MyVote website ( using Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, or Safari as your web browser. You may be required to submit photo identification with your application - please, no selfies.

Please visit the “Bring it to the Ballot” ( web site for information on photo identification. The deadline for requesting a ballot by mail is 5:00 p.m. on April 2, 2020.
