Incident Details:
A nineteen-year-old man sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries after being shot early this morning in the 4400 block of Sentinel Pass. Around 12:50 this morning, a resident called to report they heard multiple gunshots and saw a car parked in the middle of the street. Fitchburg officers responded to the scene and were unable to locate the vehicle.
Another witness reported they saw a dark sedan leave the area at a high rate of speed shortly after the gunshots. A short time later, a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim confirmed he had been shot on Sentinel Pass.
Based on initial information obtained by investigators, it appears the victim planned to meet another person or persons in the street on Sentinel Pass. During the encounter, one of the men he arranged to meet shot the victim. The victim does not appear to have any connection to the neighborhood where the shooting occurred.
Investigators located evidence of the shooting in the street and determined two rounds struck an occupied home. The rounds went through the front of the house and were located inside. No one inside the home was injured.
Personnel from the City of Madison Police Department and the Town of Madison Police Department assisted officers from the Fitchburg Police Department with the investigation.
Suspect Description: The shooter was described as a Black male, approximately 20-30 years old and 6’3” with a slender build. He was wearing all black and had long braids.
Another male in the suspect vehicle was described as a Black male, approximately 20-30 years old and bald with tattoos on his forehead.
Suspect Vehicle Description: The suspect vehicle was described as a dark, newer model Chevrolet Impala.
