On Saturday, March 14th, Fitchburg Police Officers will be pouring free coffee at McDonald's located at 2845 Fish Hatchery Road from 9-11:00 a.m. as part of their Coffee with a Cop program. This is the third year the Fitchburg Police Department has participated in the Coffee with a Cop program.
Coffee with a Cop aims to bring police officers and citizens together in a neutral setting in order to create conversation. Officers will be available to answer questions, listen to citizen's concerns and most importantly get to know those in the community. The event also allows citizens to see officers in a more human way.
The ultimate goal of the program is to allow officers and citizens to interact in a comfortable setting to help build and foster mutual trust, understanding and respect.
