The Fitchburg Police Department is fortunate to have ten full and part-time telecommunicators who serve as the vital link between those who need assistance and those who provide the assistance.
Unfortunately the work of the telecommunicator often goes unnoticed because they are not physically at the scene of an emergency. Telecommunicators are sometimes the only contact the public has with the City of Fitchburg. While performing their vital job duties they provide advice, assistance and reassurance that help is on the way. In addition to helping the public, telecommunicators enable officers in the field to function more effectively and keep a watchful eye over them to ensure their safety.
Please join us in recognizing the hard work of all our telecommunicators and thank them for their commitment to the Department and the City of Fitchburg.
Check out the Communications page of our website to learn more about the duties of the telecommunicator and what you role you play in assisting them.
