On July 18th, members of the Fitchburg Police Department joined other employees from the City of Fitchburg as part of Team Fitchburg to participate in the 13th Annual Bike for Boys and Girls Club. The event is the single largest fundraising event for the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County. 2015 marked the first year the event was held in Fitchburg.

Detective Hector Aguirre, Lieutenant Chad Brecklin, Officer Brad Frias, Officer Lucas Hale, Sergeant Edward Hartwick and Dispatcher Kathy Howe all rode in the event, with routes ranging from 8 to 50 miles. The day before the ride, Officer Hale and Sergeant Hartwick spent an hour on spin bikes in full uniform as part of a the Boys and Girls Club fundraising campaign.

Team Fitchburg raised over $5,000 to help the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County reach their goal of raising $450,000.
