On 09/05/2015, at 2:15 pm, officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to a head-on crash on Fish Hatchery Road at Adams Road.
The initial investigation revealed that a pickup truck pulling an enclosed trailer was traveling northbound on Fish Hatchery Road attempting to turn westbound into a driveway, north of Adams Road. A second pickup truck was behind the truck and trailer also going northbound. The second truck did not see the first truck slowing. The second truck swerved into the southbound lane sideswiping the trailer and striking a southbound vehicle head-on.
The driver of the truck and trailer was not injured. The southbound vehicle was occupied by a driver and two passengers. All three received serious injuries. The second pick up was occupied by a driver and a three year old child. The driver received serious injuries and the child was uninjured. The child was in a child restraint car seat. All injuries are not life threatening.
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
The accident is still under investigation. Fish Hatchery Road was closed from 2:15 pm until 5:50 pm.
