On Thursday, October 13th, at approximately 5:49 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the area of Pike Drive and Eggiman Road for a caller reporting hearing a single gun-shot.
A short time later, City of Madison police officers responded to a report in the City of Madison of a male who had been injured in a fight. He told Madison officers he had been involved in a fight and was shot at in the area of Pike Drive and Eggiman Road in the City of Fitchburg.
The male, who sustained minor injuries as a result of the fight, reported he had been fighting with another male, when an unknown third male fired a single shot.
Fitchburg officers recovered a single shell casing at the scene, near the intersection of Eggiman Road and Pike Drive.
The subject who fired the shot was described by witnesses as a black male, in his twenties, with a darker complexion and long dreadlocks.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
