On February 2, 2017, at approximately 8:12 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department were sent to the 2900 block of King James Way for a weapons violation. When officers arrived on scene they located a victim who had been struck with some type of metal object, possibly a firearm.
The victim was interviewed and obtained medical attention for non-life threatening injuries. The victim described the suspect as a younger black male wearing black pants and a black jacket. The victim did not have any further description of the suspect. The suspect left the area in an unknown direction.
A City of Madison K9 Officer assisted at the scene and provided a K9 track to check the area for the suspect. The suspect was not located at this time. It is believed that the victim was specifically targeted by the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and there is no further information available to be released at this time.
