On Saturday, August 2nd, the Fitchburg Police will host their annual National Night Out Crime Day Picnic at McKee Farms Park from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. National Night Out is an effort to create partnerships between the police and the community and to encourage neighborhood camaraderie in order to prevent crime.
The Crime Day Picnic will feature kids activities and emergency vehicle displays from the Fitchburg Police Department, Fitchburg Fire Department, Fitchrona E.M.S. and UW Medflight. Many other local first responder agencies will be on hand as well as a police K9, a mounted horse patrol unit, police motorcycle and and police bicycle patrol Officer.. Hot dogs, chips and soda will be served.
This is a great opportunity to get to connect with some of the first responders who serve the City of Fitchburg and a chance to check out the equipment they use on a daily basis. It is also a great way to meet your fellow residents and learn what role you can play in crime prevention.
